It seems like no time since we were counting down the days to the end of the school term and a few weeks off, we’re now on the other side of the summer break and counting down the days ‘til we can sit down with a cup of tea and not have to constantly think about the intellectual Jenga that is summer camps, playdates and endless activities. That’s right, it’s time for our little darlings to go back to school and have those saintly teachers plan most of their day. But before we can wave them off there’s just the matter of book lists, uniforms, PE gear, finding and cleaning that school bag, tagging everything that could possibly (and will definitely) go missing and realising that the new shoes you bought just three weeks ago are already too small. Seriously, what is with their feet, how do they just keep growing?

So, though you’re excited to no longer be in charge of their boredom from 9am you are slightly afraid that you might burn out before you even get to that first day. And nobody, please nobody, mention school lunches - you just aren’t emotionally ready to get back on that rollercoaster. It’s time to take a deep breath and use your skills to make life a little easier;

- Delegate. If you have a partner it’s time to give them a list of things to do. Yes, it’s often quicker to do things yourself but that’s also the fastest way to burn out. Not delegating creates a learned behaviour and a rod for your own back. Anyone is capable to ordering the school books.

- Nothing needs to be perfect. Some perfect Instagram mums really are perfect, some have lots of money and help and others have every other part of their life falling apart in the background. Unfollow anyone who is making you feel less than.

- Take a supplement like Cleanmarine For Women which contains vitamin B1, B2 and B6 which work to support normal energy yielding metabolism while B2 and B6 contribute to reducing tiredness and fatigue to help keep you going during the back to school weeks.

Once you’ve got everything done and you’re getting ready to make the first school lunch take a deep breath and remember kids like to pick away at bitty things. Make a large bowl of a favourite pasta on a Sunday night that’s nice to eat cold, while you’re waiting for the pasta to cook chop up some fruit and have ready in a bowl in the fridge and you can pop yoghurt tubs into the lunch box each morning.

You might be worried that their diet is not perfect all the time but it’s quite hard to get whole heads of broccoli and an oily fish like mackerel into most lunch boxes. As a busy mum of two girls Lorraine Keane knows this only too well…

“To ensure my kids get enough omega 3 I choose Cleanmarine For Kids. The small but powerful kid sized capsules contain enough Omega 3 to support their growing brains each day.”Lorraine and Romy Keane
